2021.10.26 20:28 nocoast12 Good Place to Study in Tulsa
I just moved to Tulsa a couple weeks ago and I'm still getting to know the area. I'm a full-time student and I work full-time at home. Due to covid my classes were moved to online. I've noticed it gets challenging to find motivation to do homework at the same desk I was sitting at for 9 hours.
Any suggestions for places to study?
I was thinking about seeing what the library at TU was like (even though I'm not a student there) but besides that I'm out of ideas.
TL;DR - Where is a good spot in Tulsa to do homework after 5pm?

2021.10.26 20:28 Own-External-9979 Eye/sinus allergy lasting for a year???
So I've been having these weird eye allergies since March where I get those sore burning sensation in my nose and around my eyes, and it makes my eyes weirdly light-sensitive, dry, burning, and grainy. The eye symptoms always occur with the nose symptoms so I'm pretty sure it's a sinus thing, but it's annoying the hell out of me. I've had this issue for 8 months now (from spring through summer to now) and i've tried to eliminate all possible triggers (staying inside, my parents' house is VERY clean, using very gentle hypoallergenic face wash/lotion, using Dreft baby detergent for clothes, etc) but it still happens. Sometimes my eyes get too irritated and I have to wash my face, and it gets better after washing but a lot of the time 5 mins later the light sensitivity/soreness around the eyes accompanied by nose tingly comes back. Does anyone else have this issue and have any tips on how to fix it??

2021.10.26 20:28 Waffelles Back door hook lock that only locks from the inside was locked when I got home - freaked out!
Help me figure this one out, as I am bit freaked out.
My partner and I left our house earlier in the evening through the back door. To get there, you have to pass through the mud room, which has its own door separating it from the kitchen. This door between the mud room and the kitchen doesn’t latch in cold weather, so we put a hook lock on the kitchen side of the door to help keep it closed to prevent cold airflow in the kitchen. In order to leave the house this way, you have to unlock the hook lock on the door to the mud room from the kitchen side, and there’s no way to relock it from the mud room side. Typically, once I am in the mud room, I shut the door to the best of my ability, but it usually stays at least a bit ajar.
So, to reiterate, structure of house is like this:
Kitchen —> Door with hook lock on kitchen side —> mud room —> door to outside with deadbolt
Tonight, we left through the back door, doing everything I just described above. Hook lock wasn’t locked cause it can’t be locked. But when we got home, it waslocked. We went through the house making sure no one had snuck in, didn’t find anyone. Nothing was missing either.
Possible explanations are that our pets (two dogs, one cat) somehow locked it, or that the hook lock locked itself when we closed the door. Both are extremely extremely unlikely. Our pets don’t have opposable thumbs and cannot really reach the hook. The hook itself usually dangles loosely toward the ground, so it couldn’t have just fallen into place. It has occasionally pointed upward when the hook is screwed really tightly into the door, so it’s conceivable that this was the case and the force of shutting the door snapped it into the receiving hook… but the whole contraption is a piece of garbage, misaligned, and falls out all the time. So the chances of this are vanishingly small.
Can someone please help me arrive at an answer for this? How is it possible that this door locked short of someone having been in the house while we were gone?

2021.10.26 20:28 Murdoch10011 Why are 20-somethings afraid of adulting?
I (54m) had a conversation with a colleague (25They) yesterday. They were telling me about plans to move in with their boyfriend and how hard adulting was: monitor their finances, set a budget, compromise with someone else, make decisions.
I was shocked. I believe I started admiring when I was 14 and had my first part time job and could finally by what I wanted. When my parents gave me money for clothes, I had to buy what they approved of. When I used my own mo eh, I could buy what I wanted.
I wanted to make decisions for myself.
